Doing Good Works

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent?"  Romans 10:15a

God is doing a new thing in the earth, bringing the body of Christ unto a higher glory. As I travel and meet various pastors, I am amazed at the complacency of most Jesus Name Apostolic Churches, being at ease in Zion. Few are stirred to press onward to the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Most feel that Acts 2:38 is all that is necessary for salvation of the soul and therefore do not care to “rock the boat”, for they feel that nothing else is necessary. The greatest need for the present external church in the earth is repentance in order to do the will of God.

When Jesus gave the Constitution of the kingdom of heaven, he did not mention Acts 2:38 or some outward dress of holiness. However, he did outline the necessary works of the believer in order to be granted access into the kingdom of heaven. There is a difference in the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of God doesn’t come with observation, but is within us. The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, joy, and peace in the Holy Ghost. The kingdom of God is Christ in you the hope of glory. The kingdom of heaven is a higher glory; when the end comes and Jesus offers the kingdom up to the Father that He may be all, through all, and in us all. This is the kingdom of heaven; when that which is perfect is come, all things that are in part shall be done away with; seeing him face to face, being known even as we are known. The Greek word for “known” is “epigninosko”; a greater knowing than that of “ginosko” in that the mark or reference of the thing is known as the person of Jesus.

The kingdom of God is the working of the Holy Ghost in leading the body of Christ into all truth; that is, into the full maturity of present truth as truth flows from the throne of God from good. Those that have done good in bringing forth perfect, mature works whereby our faith is made perfect as Jesus requires of each church in the Book of The Revelation. For Jesus addresses each of the seven churches in The Revelation with the following statement: “I know thy works”. Jesus is looking for perfect, mature works that glorify Him as to His person and work. Anything short of these perfect works will not make the kingdom of heaven, even though one may be in the kingdom of God. When a believer receives the Holy Ghost, he or she is in the kingdom of God. Being in the kingdom of God is not enough, for the believer must obey the Holy Ghost in doing the will of God.

Many say that they believe the Word, therefore, are a believer. However, believing is not a mental intellectual exercise of the mind and that of the soul, but is a believing of the heart which is in the spirit of the believer. Jesus mentions many times that believing is not a mental exercise of the mind in intellect, but is an affection of the heart. Jesus stated that many drew close to Him with the mouth, but their heart was far from him; also that in words they said that they knew him, but in works they denied him. A serious situation arises when a believer does not walk in the light as Jesus is in the Light. It is only when a believer walks in the light as present truth comes to the body of Christ does the body of Christ have fellowship one with the other; that is, the blood flow between the members of Christ as his body; then the blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness. It is this constant second by second, minute by minute cleansing that takes place only by the body of Christ walking in the light as Jesus is presently in the Light. The Light is present truth in being where Jesus is, and seeing His glory.

God is calling the body of Christ unto a higher glory. Not just the glory that grandpa and grandma had, but the glory that is His alone as He sends the influx of truth into the body of Christ in revealing Himself; for the path of the righteous is as a light that shines more and more unto the perfect day. This light of God is the life. The chariot is the doctrine of Jesus in the way, the truth, the life. The horse that pulls the chariot is the spiritual hearing and understanding of the believer that gives life to the chariot, for no chariot can pull itself; neither can the doctrine of Christ bring forth itself without revelation knowledge of Jesus; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. As the body without the spirit is dead, so the body of Christ without the spirit of prophecy is dead also. The main principal being that faith without works is dead.

God is sending knowledge of truth to those who have been careful to bring forth good works in the things that must shortly come to pass. These things are before us and we as Paul must reach forth to those things which are before, forgetting those things which are behind; pressing onward to the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The prize is not received unless the believer runs the race and finishes; for he that overcomes unto the end, the same shall be saved. It is not enough to have faith without works, for faith is shown forth by the works that glorify God. Therefore, to do the will of God is not by faith alone, but doing those things of faith as the Holy Ghost leads. Now we can understand that the Holy Ghost is given to them that obey Him; for it is by obedience in doing the will of God in maintaining good works that the influx of truth comes to the believer; being not a hearer of the Word only, but a doer of the Word. For James said “But be ye doers of the work, and hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22). God does not deceive us; but, we deceive ourselves believing this Gospel of faith only with no works. Jesus requires perfect works in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Not all that say unto Jesus, Lord, Lord, will be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of the Father. Did you see that? He that does the will, for we must do something in order to please God with works that are accounted perfect, being led of the Holy Ghost. For those that are led of the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. There are many preachers, but few ministers. Many preach the letter of the Word, but few are led of the Spirit which gives life which is the light of Jesus. Jesus is the truth, He is the Life, and the light is the life of men. We must walk in the light as Jesus is in the Light in order to be accounted worthy of the kingdom of God which will ultimately be consummated in the kingdom of heaven. Many are called, but few chosen. And the ones that are chosen must be found faithful. Therefore, it is the called, chosen and faithful that Jesus reaps at His second coming. Brethren, as many as be perfect are to be thus minded. What is that mind? That we must constantly be reaching forth unto those things which are before us in truth which comprise faith which works by love. We must constantly be pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. How many callings are there? There is only one hope of our calling. We either are in this first resurrection as a kind of firstfruits unto God, or we miss the mark and the leading of the Holy Ghost which the Bible calls iniquity. Jesus plainly told those that cast out devils, did many wonderful works, and did many miracles, which by the way knew Jesus as the Lord, but heard the fearful words, “Depart from me, ye that work iniquity”. Iniquity is lawlessness; that is, not being led of the Spirit of God, but missing the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Who then can be saved? With God it is possible, but with man it is impossible. If it’s man, then its not God. If it is God, then it is not man. What is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. With this modern church world, money is godliness; for a man’s life consists of the things which he possesses. However, Jesus said that a man’s life does not consist of the things which he possesses; for Paul said that he had not known idolatry except the law had said “thou shalt not covet.” For covetousness is the sin of idolatry. Who does not covet the things of the world in the present world? The simple answer is those that have crucified the flesh with the affections and the lust, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Is holiness simply a dress code? No! But holiness is a relationship with God and that of the heart through the Spirit of God; for modesty is an attitude of the heart which has its outward reflection in our conversation; in our daily lives. Who is it that loves God? He that loves God keeps His commandments? Are the commandments that must be kept those that were written in stone called the Decalogue as given to Moses, or are these commandments that must be kept those that are written upon the fleshly tables of the heart as given by the Spirit in leading the body of Christ unto perfection? I suggest to you that it is the latter known as the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, also known as the perfect law of liberty. In other words, whosoever knows to do good and does it not, to him it is sin.

We must receive the present truths of the Word of God concerning these things that God is now sending to the body of Christ in order that we may bring forth the revelation of Jesus Christ, making the kingdoms of this world, the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. May we all go on to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ, unto a perfect man, caught up to God and to His throne; ruling and reigning with Jesus Christ.

God bless you in Jesus name.
