"And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." (Hebrews 9:22). "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." (Leviticus 17:11).

For it is in the blood we find life; life everlasting, the God-life of holiness that we live presently, all benefits of God flow to us through the blood, for in the blood is life. This is the abundant life which is the God-life that the overcomer obtains through faith in the blood of the Lamb. All divine appointments of God with man are prepared through the redemption price of the blood. For it is the blood of the Passover which starts the believer on the journey toward the inestimable gift of eternal life in God; i.e. repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ having the blood applied to one's life. The season of Pentecost is then manifested in the believer's life being filled with the Holy Ghost because of the blood of Jesus Christ. Upon the believer coming into the final season of Tabernacles into the fullness of Christ, we find again that it is because of the blood of Jesus.

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." (Hebrews 2:14).  Jesus Christ as the Spirit of God took on a body and became resident in flesh and blood exactly like ours in order that he might destroy the works of the devil. "For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus Christ as a man like us in every respect was tempted in all things, just like as we our tempted. Jesus was tempted of Satan, of the world by men who tried to take him in his words, and by His flesh which was weak just like all human beings. However, the foundation of God standeth sure and stedfast, for we have a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Jesus as our great High Priest was holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. Jesus' blood did not carry sin in it as ours, in that he never sinned yielding to any temptation. This spotless, harmless, undefiled blood was shed for our atonement. We must have faith in the blood of the Lamb of God, for in it we overcome the world.

God gave His life by giving His blood, for the blood is the life of the flesh. The Spirit of God did not die, but the life's blood of God was shed for our redemption through His body of flesh. What is this blood? How do we esteem the blood of Jesus? The blood was of a man who was the express image of God; that is, the perfect expression of the divine nature and character of God. If one desires to see the invisible God, look at the visible man Christ Jesus, for He is God manifested in the flesh. The corruptible man of Adam and his descendents could not satisfy the holy demands of God for the atonement, even though blood was to be shed and sprinkled in this act of obedience. It had to be blood in which is the life of a spotless, holy, undefiled sacrifice in order to be accepted of God. The blood of the atonement could not have sin and be accepted of God for the redemption of mankind.  All mankind was guilty before God therefore, could not shed their blood for the atonement. Jesus was innocent. He never sinned. Therefore his blood, in which is the life, was accepted by God as the supreme sacrifice for our redemption.

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." (Acts 20:28). Since Jesus Christ is the Son of God (God manifested in the flesh); the human body of Jesus Christ being the express image or character of God manifested in the earth, the human blood of Jesus is God's own blood, the blood of the Holy Ghost. Spirit is not transmuted into blood, neither is physical blood Spirit, but it is the life of the flesh of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was God's own body having the fullness of the Spirit dwelling or housing permanently in him. Jesus overcame by the Spirit which he is as God, overcoming the world, the devil and his angels, and the desires of his own flesh having never sinned. God as Spirit did not transmute into blood, neither is the physical blood of Jesus the Spirit, but they agree in one. The blood that He shed on Calvary, though human blood, nevertheless is the blood of the Son of God as the redemptive office of the Spirit, Jesus being the Spirit that laid down his human body shedding his own sinless, undefiled blood. Do we have to have faith in His blood? "Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29).

Praise God for his unspeakable gift of Himself toward us, "because he laid down his life for us". (1 John 3:16b). How did God lay down His life for us? Jesus Christ shed his blood which is the life of the flesh. Jesus gave his life a sacrifice for sin as a propitiation for our salvation. We perceive the love of God by the blood that he shed for our sins, while in that we were sinners, Christ died for us. Thank God for the blood that will never loose its power...for there is power in the blood of Jesus to cleanse all from their filthy sins and stains in this ever flowing streams of Calvary.

Abel's blood cried for vengeance, since he was murdered by Cain; "and by it he being dead yet speaketh".  If Jesus were killed by the Jews, He died as a mere martyr for religious causes. If Jesus were killed by the Romans, He died as an act of terrorism.  If you and I killed Jesus, then we are guilty of the blood of Jesus and are murderers. But if Jesus laid down his life of his own freewill for the sins of the world...and that no man took his life from him...then His life was a sacrifice for sin. The blood of Abel cried vengeance. If Jesus were a mere martyr or was killed by the Romans or by us, then Jesus' blood would cry "Vengeance" to the guilty. But Jesus laid down His life and shed His blood as a supreme sacrifice for sin as the perfect, spotless Lamb of God. Therefore, Jesus' blood speaks undeniably of "Love" ... "Mercy" ... "Peace" ... "Atonement" ... "Reconciliation" ... "Surety" ... "Safety" ... "Everlasting Life".  This is the everlasting blood of the Covenant, the blood in the New Testament shed for you.

Let all praise Him! "For there's pow'r, pow'r, wonder working pow'r, in the blood of the Lamb...there is pow'r, pow'r, wonder working pow'r, in the precious blood of the Lamb."
